The Alphabet Of Sewing
Introduce some of the basic tools and vocabulary of sewing with this colorful ABC’s chart. This chart is colorful and playful, great for an elementary classroom or home craft room.

Sewing: Tools of the Trade
You might not initially think of sewing as a trade, but it is! In my “Is Sewing A Trade?” article I talked about how sewing requires special skills and training, and has it’s own machinery and techniques to master.
This black and white print shows several of the common tools and gear a sewist uses daily. The bold poster has a vintage style and would look great in a large black frame.

This sewing machine parts poster is a large chart that labels the basic parts of a sewing machine. This poster would make a great addition to a high school sewing classroom for students to reference when they are learning about a sewing machine for the first time.
Fabric Yardage Conversion Chart Poster
This printable sewing chart is a largescale poster of common formulas that are used to calculate fabric yardages. This is also a great poster to have nearby to reference in a sewing room, perhaps near the cutting table and rotary tools.

Additional Printable Sewing Posters
I also wanted to share two of my favorite educational sewing printable posters from Etsy, if you need more options.
The first is this set of sewing patent prints. They come in a set which would look very neat all hung together on a gallery wall.
Not only do they look cool, but since they are vintage patents they also make great educational artwork.
This set features several common sewing products such as the thimble, scissors, a spool, sewing machines, a safety pin, and a sewing needle.
I also really enjoyed this sewing gear collage. This is more of a decorative piece than an educational one, but the bold colors and outlines make it great for younger kids, or a jr high or high school classroom.
