About The Coloring Sheets
These coloring sheets are a set of three, and each one is a totally different activity.
You are welcome to print and use these coloring pages as many times as you want. They are a fun item to include in a sewing unit study at your homeschool, or a good quiet-time activity to give to younger kids while the older kids practice sewing on a machine.
One of the sheets has the option to print a portion of it in color, but it will still work if you print it in black and white.
Learn about each of the sheets and how you can use them with your kids below!
Color By Number Quilt Block
Have you ever done a paint by number? This color by number is the same concept. Color in each shape that is labeled with the number “1” Blue, the 2’s are red, and the 3’s are purple. Then when you are done you will see a beautiful quilt block!
Color by number’s are a fun way to practice number recognition and matching.
Another way to get creative with this page is to do different patterns in each shape (like stripes, poka dots, etc.) This could make it look even more like a pieced quilt!
Sewing Gear Coloring Page
The sewing gear coloring page is full of common every day sewing elements such as:
- Sewing Machine
- Bobbin
- Spool of Thread
- Seam Ripper
- Shears
- Tape Measure
- Buttons
- and more…
This could be a fun way to play “I Spy” with your child. Name a sewing object and have them color it in as they find it.
Draw An Outfit On A Mannequin
A dress form (or a sewing mannequin) is used to drape and design dresses and other garments. For this coloring activity, have your child get creative and design their own outfit and draw it on the mannequin!
You might want to print out a couple copies of this page so your child can draw several different dress ideas!
