Looking for a cross stitch pattern that is sewing themed? I’ve got two cute patterns that you can download and use for free!

About The Cross Stitch Patterns

These cross stitch patterns are super cute and only take a handful of floss colors each. They are both large patterns, ideal for a wall hanging or pillow design.

The first design features a vintage sewing machine with a heart detail, and the words “Hand Made” underneath in a playful font.

The second design is a spool of thread and a needle with the words: “Sew: A Needle Pulling Thread” from the classic song Do-Re-Mi from the sound of music.

Here are the images I made that the patterns are based off of: (You are welcome to save and use these graphics for whatever you like!)

The colors I use in these patterns are indicated by the DMC floss color codes for your convenience, but of course you can choose to use whatever colors you want!

There are no half stitches or other types of stitches on these patterns, just regular X’s.

How To Use These Patterns

First, download the files by entering your email below. I will send you both files right away.

Each pattern comes with a several page printable chart that will show you exactly how many stitches for each pattern.

Print out the PDF, then if you want you can cut off the excess paper and glue it together to be one large map.

If you want, you can also download the two graphics I showed above, and upload them into Floss Cross to re-make these patterns in a smaller size (one is 100 stitches wide, and one is 85 I believe, so decently large!)

How To Get Started Cross Stitching

Start at the middle square on the pattern, and make your stitches outwards counting and marking them off the chart as you complete rows.

Make each stitch look the same. If you start the first cross of the X at the bottom left corner, then do the same for each stitch on the chart. This will give it a very even appearance at the end.

Here are the stitches I started when I was working on the heart portion.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoy these fun little designs, I had fun making them. I am not a great cross stitcher so I am quite slow, I haven’t finished these yet, but wanted to share them with you!

Also make sure to check out how cool the “Floss Cross” tool is, you can make any image into a cross stitch design!

Let me know if you have questions about how to use these, I’m happy to help.
